  1. Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Cook spaghetti according to package instructions, reserving 1 cup cooking water before draining.
  2. Meanwhile heat oil in a large skillet. Add tomatoes and cook over medium-high heat for 8–10 minutes, stirring, until some burst.
  3. Reduce heat. Add garlic, salt, and pepper and cook for 1 minute.
  4. Toss pasta with tomatoes and ½ cup pasta water. Stir for 1–2 minutes, adding more water if needed.
  5. Remove from heat and fold in basil and Parmesan.
