  1. Preheat a waffle iron according to its instructions. Whisk flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt.
  2. In another bowl whisk eggs, milk, melted butter, and vanilla. Fold into the dry mixture just until combined.
  3. Lightly oil the waffle iron. Add the amount of batter recommended for your iron, leaving room for expansion.
  4. Cook each waffle until deeply golden and steam slows, usually 4–6 minutes, checking that the center is set.
  5. Serve immediately with washed, dried mixed berries.
