Ingredients

Volumes are approximate. For baking, use a scale; Metric keeps the specified gram weights.

Let’s make it

  1. Cook plain frozen edamame according to the package until tender, typically 4-6 minutes, and drain well. Begin with the weighed 14.11 oz frozen shelled beans; no pods are included. Cool for 5 minutes. Use the package instructions rather than treating frozen beans as ready to eat.
  2. Pulse the beans and garlic in a food processor. Add tahini, lemon juice, salt and half the water. Process, stopping to scrape the sides, until the beans are finely broken down but retain a little texture.
  3. Add the remaining water and measured olive oil; process until spreadable. Divide into eight equal portions. Serve without uncounted toppings. Refrigerate in a covered shallow container within 2 hours, use within 3-4 days, and stir after chilling. The estimate starts with 14.11 oz frozen unprepared shelled beans; changes from cooking and draining are not measured.

Calculation notes & sources

ESTIMATED per serving. Brand, crop, preparation, draining, pan residue and substitutions change actual nutrition. Not laboratory analysis. Raw or dry food profiles match pre-cooking edible masses. All listed oil and retained cooking liquid are counted. Cooking moisture changes do not change the stated portion count. No generic nutrient-retention factor is invented. Calories are kcal; protein, total carbohydrate, fat and total sugar are grams. Total carbohydrate includes fiber and is not net carbohydrate. Fiber and sodium are not displayed. Equal portions define yield; counted breadsticks, polenta batons, pear halves and pancakes are explicitly divided. US/Metric display changes do not change these canonical inputs. Primary-source supplements are retained per ingredient where USDA lacks a field; missing values are never silently changed to zero.
