Ingredients

Let’s make it

  1. Heat oven to 425°F (220°C). Mix breadcrumbs and milk; stand for 3 minutes.
  2. Add beef, egg, half the garlic, salt, and pepper. Mix gently and shape into 16 meatballs.
  3. Place on a lined baking tray and bake for 15–20 minutes, until centers reach 160°F (71°C).
  4. Meanwhile heat oil in a saucepan. Cook onion for 5 minutes, stir in remaining garlic for 30 seconds, add diced tomatoes and oregano, and simmer for 15 minutes.
  5. Add cooked meatballs to the sauce, simmer for 5 minutes, and finish with basil.
